Me, Myself and I: The Kore Wa Watashi Award

First and foremost, I would like to thank evening tea musings for tagging me in this blogger award! I’ve only seen it once or twice, but I have yet to really circulate in my section? region? of the blog-o-sphere. So now, it’s time to jump into the award!

The Rules:

  • The Purpose of this tag is very simple! Describe yourself through anime! To do this you will answer all of the questions below!
  • After this is done you will tag 6 people to pass the tag onto! If you’re tagged for a second time you only have to tag 3 in your next post and 1 on your third attempt and should you so choose beyond. Tell us why you nominated these people!
  • People who ask to be tagged should be added to your tag list with a link to their blog!
  • Tell something nice about them as well.
  • Remember to have fun with the tag and be proud of who you are, you are an amazing person and the fact that so many anime and anime characters share traits with you shows you are pretty breathtaking!

The Questions:

Describe a hobby or passion you have through an anime series! For example Shokugeki no Soma if you like cooking or Initial D if you like cars.

This is kinda hard since most of my hobbies aren’t topics really captured in anime. I mean, there isn’t really an anime about going to the movies, watching dramas or scrap booking ya know? But one part of hobbies is leisurely traveling and exploring by myself, learning about myself along the way. The idea of going alone to a new place for me is as strange, as it is comforting. So Kiki’s Delivery Service, the traveling and discovering yourself in a new setting has got to be it.

Simplify yourself to an Anime Archetype (Tsundere, Dojiko, Shota, Shounen-Protagonist etc)  don’t overthink what an archetype is, go with your gut. Name a character that is also that Archetype.

I…. had to put a lot of effort into this part actually. I only had a few vague inklings of anime archetypes, none of which seemed correct to describe me. However, there’s a lot of terms used by fans that I know in theory, but wasn’t actually sure I really knew the meaning. So I took like 6 quizzes about anime archetypes, and landed on 4 out of 6 as Kuudere. Pretty accurate in most cases, although I wouldn’t have picked that for me. Being that I’m still new-ish to this concept, I had to look at a few list articles to figure out a character that I a) knew and b) didn’t hate to pick and hey; Misaki Mei from Another isn’t a bad.

Describe your looks through comparing it with anime characters, you can decide how many!

So, it can be really hard to find blue-eyed anime characters that are natural looking. However, Blue from Wolf’s Rain has the most natural looking blue eyes, closest to my own.

For my hair; the length is around the same length as Touka from Tokyo Ghoul in this image. Except you need to swap the purple for brown and straight for naturally curly. For those in the know about curl type I’m around 2C/3A depending on how I do my hair. Also my skin tone is around Touka’s except a more pinky undertone.

Lastly, height! I find it absolutely hilarious that Vegeta and I are the same height a 164cm or 5’4! So that’s a fun little fact you can add.

Describe your romantic bias and or sexuality through anime characters you find attractive.
*insert the Will Smith meme from at the movies/ ta-da*

I don’t want to be that person but… I’m bisexual? Have I mentioned that before? I don’t remember. It’s not a secret, but hey, here we are in case you didn’t know. For some added context, the character on the left, is Hazama Kuroo i.e. Black Jack of the franchise Black Jack. The lady on the right is Kusanagi Motoko from the Ghost in the Shell franchise. They both are pretty stoic, independant and notoriously don’t take lovers. Ah, perhaps a bit more true to the mark then I should admit lol!

Tell us about your day to day life and what anime that would fit into! You can be creative here!

That above image is me, every day Monday through Friday baby! Do I ever know what’s going on at school? Sometimes! My co-teachers, All Might and Present Mic to my Aizawa do. They’re also kind enough to let me know what’s going that day. I also have to admit, I rely on teaching aids a lot, I might even have a copy of this very book in real life (kidding). Also my school’s Recovery Girl is kind enough to let me nap on occasion. Bless.

Luckily, my students are significantly less likely to cause the same amount of destruction then the students of U.A. At least to my knowledge. Would I put it past them to try? Maybe. Will they? Probably not because I usually just get very confused, and then their homeroom teacher tells them to stop.

Weekends look a bit more like this. I sleep in. Make a list or two and leisurely complete them over Saturday or Sunday. I travel a bit to stores for art supplies, groceries, etc. Sometimes I go to the movies, but otherwise I keep to myself and relax. I wish I could take a broom with a cat to those places though…

Describe your hopes and dreams through an anime character.

This is going to be a little depressing and somewhat obvious but it’s changed a little bit since I last answered. It’s still a Sumaragi twin from X, but instead of Hokuto, I’ve shifted more to being like Subaru. Something I’ve struggled with for awhile is the idea of finding someone, or something to make life worth living. It’s not nearly as intense as Subaru, but the idea of living only for myself, without any other motivating factors is… quite frankly baffling to me. So, I’m on the quest for finding something worth living, right now it’s teaching and my current students. Prior to, it was finishing college and taking care of my grandparents. I’m always finding more things some come, and some go, and that’s just the name of the game. I suppose one day I’ll find that special someone, or special something I’m looking for. If not, I can at least I spent my life searching and that’s a life well spent in my eyes.

    • That’s really nice of you to say. It’s always reassuring to know there are other’s with similar traits.

Thank you! It can be a little hard for me to share like this, but I’m glad it’s going over well!
